Rich Girl: Nina Simone

I am a big fan of Jazz musicians covering pop tunes (SF Jazz Collective: Superstition) and a huge Hall and Oates fan. I was searching youtube for different versions of Hall and Oates tunes to try and spark some creative juices, as I'm doing a lot of writing and would love to find that perfect pop tune to give a jazz treatment to. I stumbled across this Nina Simone version of Rich Girl, and was enthralled by her version, it's so raw!. I'm not that familiar with Nina, but I will definitely have to check her out some more. I love the honesty in how she breaks out of the tune and asks the question" Its so easy to hurt others when you can't feel pain...ain't it?" I hope you enjoy
